NorCal Golf Academy is a state of the art Indoor Golf Learning Center. NorCal Golf Academy utilizes the latest technology, including Trackman Radar and Videw, Swing Catalyst Balance Plates, AMM 3D Technology, and K-Vest 6-Dop 3D to analyze not only what your body, club and ball are doing and why. This detailed information let’s us provide you with specific and customizable instruction without guessing.
What services does NorCal Golf Academy offer?
Golf Lesson utilizing Trackman Radar and Video, Practice Sessions using Trackman, Golf Fitness and AimPoint Green Reading and Putting Instruction are the staple of NorCal Golf Academy. We address all aspects of your golf game from Putting utilizing the SAM PuttLab, which measures 28 parameters of your putting stroke to tell you what needs improvement, it then guides you through the “perfect practice” and gives you feedback on your performance to practice, to instruction in our indoor Sand Bunker, to Short Game Instruction and Full Swing work, including maximizing your Driver’s Distance and Control.
Is NorCal Golf Academy affiliated with any Golf Courses?
No, NorCal Golf Academy is a standalone Indoor Golf Learning Center based in Walnut Creek, CA. We offer opportunities to Play with the Pros at nearby Oakhurst Country Club.
Why should I choose NorCal Golf Academy instead of traditional golf instruction on the driving range?
In order to learn and make positive changes to a movement pattern such as the Golf Swing, people need feedback. At the driving range the Golf Professional is using his or her eyes to see what is going on in your swing. The human eye sees images at 15 frames per second. At NorCal Golf Academy we utilize inertial sensors that can measure your motion at up to 240 frames per second, which gives our instructors a detailed report to better guide you to the correct motion. This technology also allows YOU the student to “FEEL” those positions and movements feel rather than feeling like a “pretzel” after being contorted into a close rendition by the golf pro. Remember, “if you are not assessing you are guessing!”
I just want to take lessons then practice on my own, can I do that?
While that is an option, we believe that it is counter-productive to practice on your own, as you will have no feedback, outside of where the ball goes, which we all know is bad data. We feel strongly that in order to embed the proper movements you need as many forms of feedback as possible. Practicing at NCGA gives you such feedback with Trackman Radar and Video swing analysis program.
I am a beginner do I really need all of this? Will I know how to play golf at the end of my package?
While knowledge gained varies from person to person, our experience shows that beginning golfers will have a firm grasp of the Golf Swing and some really good knowledge on the rules and common practices of the game. Most people will be capable of making their way around the golf course upon the completion of a mid-level Program.
What do we offer for the better golfer?
NorCal Golf Academy thrives on the low handicapper! With our instructors’ formal training and playing backgrounds we are confident that we can take you to the next level, whether that be College Golf, Club Championship or Professional Competition we can take you there!
What should I wear for my lesson?
We recommend that you wear Golf or Fitness Attire. Tennis Shoes are preferred to Golf Shoes.
