What is the Swing Evaluation at NorCal Golf Academy?

The Swing Evaluation is a one-on-one assessment where a coach uses GC Quad launch monitor data and high-speed video to analyze your full swing, identify what is holding you back, and outline a clear plan to help you start shooting lower scores.

How long does a Swing Evaluation take?

Most Swing Evaluations last between 40 and 60 minutes, depending on the coach you choose.

What technology do you use during the Swing Evaluation?

Your coach uses a GC Quad launch monitor and SwingCatalyst high-speed video, and for some sessions force or pressure plates, to measure your impact dynamics and ball flight so you understand exactly what is happening in your swing.

What should I bring and wear to my Swing Evaluation?

Bring your current set of clubs and wear comfortable golf attire that lets you move freely. We ask students to wear athletic shoes instead of golf shoes to protect the force plates and keep the studio clean.

What happens after my Swing Evaluation?

At the end of your evaluation, your coach will summarize what they found, explain which issues should be addressed first, and recommend an ongoing improvement plan so you know exactly how to move forward with lessons and practice.

A PGA Professional with a passion for both the game and the people who play it, I bring a well rounded and continuously evolving approach to golf instruction. I have had the privilege of working with and learning from two of the game’s most respected coaches, Jim McLean and Rick Smith, experiences that have deeply shaped my teaching philosophy and technical understanding. In addition, I have spent time shadowing many of the game’s top instructors, further broadening my perspective and approach.

Throughout my career, I have remained committed to being a constant student of the game, always seeking new insights to better serve my students. I have also taught at several private clubs on Long Island, working with golfers of all skill levels from beginners to seasoned players helping them improve performance while fostering a genuine enjoyment for the game.


